*NO COPS NO MILITARY*
An explanation of my practice:
I design systems of abstraction, techniques of improvised marking that each follow a discrete visual language. Everything is freehand. I’ve named and documented these techniques to make communicating our ideas easier:
CAVITY /// angular textural formations creating depth into the skin, with large black focal points.
SYSTEM /// organic curvilinear swells of parallel line, informed by geologic strata and sedimentary formations.
ASSEMBLY /// complex rectilinear structures constructed from pre-fab and freehand subassemblies, imagining future blight and anthropocene decay.
ARRAY /// weathered grid structures warping to the surface of the body. Interested in playing with different levels of scale, shape, texture, detail, and perspective.
GROWTH /// branching and woven lines of similar weight informed by fungal mycelium.
SCRAWL /// expressive and obscured text pieces. can be your words or can be chosen from a list of prepared words and phrases.
CUSTOMS: While everything i do is essentially a custom, I also am always open to working from reference imagery or concepts and take plenty of more figurative projects. If you have an idea that you'd like my interpretation on, i'd love to hear it!
